  26. I have seen a problem with the new USR 33.6 Sportster.  I was tasked with
  27. discovering why they do not work with the products my company makes.
  28. Specifically, the USR 28.8 works fine with our auto-dial software, but the
  29. USR 33.6 fails.

  31. I put a serial communication analyzer on the Sportster's port, and watched
  32. what happens when the DTR signal in set from OFF to ON.  The modem emits
  33. several hundred <NULL> characters (0x00 ASCII), before it responds "OK".
  34. I reported this to USR Technical Support.  They have called me back to say
  35. that they are "further investigating" this problem.
